May 2017

Bonjour! Hola! Hello!

In today's world of cultural diversity and languages, presentations need to be available in multiple languages real-time. This past week at Build 2017, Microsoft surprised us with the introduction of their Presentation Translator, an impressive Office add-in that does just that and in 9 spoken and 60 supported text languages. Imagine translating what was said in Spanish to English in real time. And audience members can follow along or ask questions which are translated in real time using the mobile app.

Prezi has had a busy month. They announced the launch of Prezi Next, a full-lifecycle presentation platform on the market that allows users to create, present, and analyze their presentations. And this week, they completed their first acquisition with the purchase of Infogram, a leading, web-based data visualization company known for the charts and infographics platform.

This month, we kicked off a new two-part series on "Make Complex Graphics Easy to Understand"; with Microsoft PowerPoint MVP, Mike Parkinson. And we had a great chat with Haiku Deck co-founder, Adam Tratt in "Dishing on Presentations". He has also offered our subscribers a special 15% discount - use code MPC15.

He's back! Join us on June 21nd for our annual Marvelous Makeovers: Presentations Edition webinar with Rick Altman. Do you hate your slides? Do they need a makeover? If yes, send them to us and Rick will use his magic to make them "marvelous"

My favorite conference of the year is coming up in September Presentation Summit. It is a must-attend event. Scheduled for Sep 24-27 in Clearwater Beach FL (near Tampa), the Summit is like Candyland for PowerPoint users, designers, and presenters. As a subscriber, you are eligible for a $75 discount good for the entire summer. To redeem this discount, enter PXpert in the Client Code field during the registration process. The first 100 people to register also receive a free one-year membership with the Presentation Guild, the new support organization for presentation professionals.
